Bomb Blast in Pune | One / Two Injured Five Bombs Defused Latest News

Pune: Pune this evening saw four low-intensity blasts in a span of nearly 40 minutes on its busy Junglee Maharaj Road in the heart of the city. Two other bombs have been defused by the Anti-Terror Squad. All the bombs were placed within 300 meter area. At least one / two people has been injured.

The explosions took place between 7.37 and 8.15 pm during rush hour in the heart of the city on Junglee Maharaj Road.

The blasts took place near Dena Bank, Bal Gandharv theater, near a McDonald's outlet on Junglee Maharaj road and Garware chowk, creating panic throughout the city.

Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan called a meeting with senior officials to step up security for the financial capital.

Bomb disposal experts said, ammonium nitrate was probably used to make the bombs, and .9 volt batteries were used to trigger the serial blasts.

Police said, Two bombs were planted in baskets on bicycles, and two were put inside plastic bags in dustbins.
